this project is about design in media.
how should we listen?
Fall 2014. Workshop: MN Made. University of Minnesota.
This project investigates the relationship between architecture and media. By presenting users with stencils of notable structures and examples of media forms ranging from Victorian Pattern Books to TED Talk videos to Ada Louise Huxtable articles, this Publisher’s Desk is intended to raise critical questions of who controls the public’s perceptions of design. Is it the designers themselves? Professional critics? Politicians? What if Frank Lloyd Wright’s Prairie style architecture had been deseminated via online blogs? What if Le Corbusier had a Twitter account and had espoused his principles of modern architecture through the means of hashtags? Could you take #machineforliving seriously?
